Calvin Kenneth Grenval Coulter

April 29, 1928 – July 31, 2021

A long journey is at its’ end, after a number of years of dementia and ill health.

Beloved husband of the late Donna Marlene Coulter (nee Thompson) with whom he had three children, Kenneth (Mary-Ann) of Oakville, Ontario, Judy James of Tillsonburg, Ontario, and Cheryl Coulter (Johnny) of Hamilton, Ontario.  Father of Darlene Coulter of Salmon Arm, B.C.  Loving Grandfather of Cara, Crystal, Adam, Jessica, Gerrit and Madeleine.  Great Grandfather to Kayla, Semore, Alissa, Dwayne, Addison, Desmond, Jaxon, Emily and Mason.  Born in Novar, Ontario in 1928, son of the late Adam Nathaniel and Blanche Maude (nee Watt).  Brother to the late sister Madealine (Orville Smith dec.), late brother Joseph (Isabel), late sister Jean (Norman Morrow dec.), sister Doris (Bill Cook dec.), sister June (Orland Crookes), brother Erston (Vivian), late brother Harvey (Peggy). 

Calvin and Donna were married in East York in 1956 and lived in Tillsonburg since 1990.  ‘Poet Cal’ was a former Kiwanian and both a Mason and a Shriner.  He has, since the 80’s, written over 3,000 poems and published two books of poetry. He will be dearly missed by extended family members and friends. 

We will celebrate his life and love on Thursday August 26, 2021, at 2 pm, at Peace Lutheran Church, 60 Young St, Tillsonburg, Ontario.  

Honouring Calvin and Donna’s request for cremation, inurnment to take place at Kirk Line Cemetery, Bracebridge Ontario with a graveside service on Saturday September 25, 2021 at 1 pm.

In lieu of flowers, donations to the Alzheimer Society of Oxford are appreciated and may be made directly, or by cheque through Wareing Cremation Services, 346 Simcoe St., Tillsonburg N4G 2J8 (519-409-5575) who have been entrusted with final arrangements.  Messages of remembrance and condolence may be shared at wareingcremation.ca
