Carolyn Gilbert

November 15, 1947 — August 24, 2024

Woodstock, Ontario

It is with much sadness that we announce the passing of our mother Carolyn Irene Gilbert (nee Howard) on Saturday August 24, 2024, however we take comfort in knowing that she is now reunited with our father Ted Stanley Gilbert.

Beloved wife of 59 years to her husband Ted Gilbert.  Cherished mother of Scott and Stacey Gilbert, Sheri and Rick Rogers, and Lisa and Patrick Sloan, all of Woodstock, Ontario.  She took pride in being the Grandmother of ten grandchildren, Natasha Gilbert (Brad Currah), Sierra and Brad Wentzell, Shelby and Eddie Skinner, Amberly Rutherford (Tyler), David Gilbert, Deanna Gilbert (Paul), Jorden Gilbert, Megean Gilbert (Scott), Ryan Sloan (Ashley Medeiros), and Leahm Sloan.  She was honoured to be the Great Grandmother to Meilah Grant, Damiyen Grant, Sutton Wentzell and Hollan Wentzell.  Carolyn is survived by her sister-in-law Wanda (Dan) Golobic, and brother-in-law Stanley Gilbutowicz. She will be missed greatly by her sisters Flo and Rudy, Eve, Kathy and Janis and fondly remembered by her many nieces and nephews.  Carolyn was predeceased by her parents Harold and Madeline Howard, sisters Wendy McGlynn and Ruth (Darcy) Kew, and brothers Percy, Gordi, Oli and Don.

The family would like to extend a sincere thank you to Dr. Vu and the incredible Staff at the Woodstock Hospital for their support in keeping her comfortable during her final days.

At her request, cremation has taken place.  Please join our family at the Celebration of Life for Ted and Carolyn Gilbert on Sunday September 29, 2024, from 1 to 4 p.m., at Goff Hall located inside the Woodstock District Community Complex, 381 Finkle St., Woodstock, Ontario.  A light lunch and refreshments will be provided.

Ted and Carolyn….taken from this earth but together in heaven!

Memorial donations can be made to “The Friends of Algonquin” in her memory where her and our father made many memories together and with family, or to the Canadian Cancer Society in hopes of finding a cure for this awful disease that affected them both.

Wareing Cremation Services, 225 Norwich Ave., Woodstock was entrusted with Final Arrangements.  Your messages of remembrance and condolence may be shared here at wareingcremation.ca
