Celina Andrea Ferris Brett, known affectionately to all as Celina Brett, passed away in her hometown of Woodstock, Ontario, Canada, on October 15, 2024, at the age of 53.
Born on August 8, 1971, to parents Leo Doucette and Darlene Ferris, Celina's life was a testament to love, creativity, and passion that she shared generously with everyone around her. Celina's early years were spent in the nurturing environment of Woodstock, where she attended Chapel Public School and later College Avenue Secondary School. Her love for helping others led her to pursue further education at Fanshawe College, where she trained to become a dedicated Developmental Service Worker (DSW). In her professional life, Celina was known for the love and care she provided to her patients in Simcoe, touching many lives through her work. Throughout her life, Celina's creative spirit shone brightly. She had a deep appreciation for music and the joy it brought to her and others. Her passion for life was evident in the way she embraced every moment, always ensuring that those around her were enveloped in her warmth and kindness. Known as 'big mama' by her friends and family, Celina's presence was a source of comfort and happiness to all who knew her.
Celina's love for her family was boundless. She leaves behind a legacy of love and cherished memories with her daughter Rayvin Brett, her stepson Joe Brett, and their father Kevin Brett. Her sister Shannon Doucette, brother Donald Bartlett, nieces Hannah Rideout and Miya Coghill, nephew Jacob Rideout, and a multitude of other nieces and nephews will hold dear the memory of Celina's vibrant spirit. Her cousins Ray, Kathy, and Angie, Ron, Heather as well as many aunts, uncles, cousins, and friends, will deeply miss her infectious laughter and loving presence. A special expression of gratitude goes to Saydee, her Personal Support Worker, and Rose and Brian Rhea who stood by Celina's side through everything. Celina was predeceased by her sister Shelley Brett, brother Timothy Doucette, father Leo Doucette, mother Darlene Ferris, her Grandmother Evelyn Ferris, her Grandfather Harvey Ferris Sr., stepmother Darlene Doucette and many of her loved ones she will now be with. Each of them held a special place in her heart, and their memories were cherished by Celina throughout her life.
As we say goodbye to Celina Andrea Ferris Brett, we celebrate a life lived with unwavering love and creativity. Her passionate approach to life, her dedication to her family, and her capacity to bring joy to others will remain an inspiration to all. Celina's legacy is one of love, laughter, and the enduring bonds she forged with each person she encountered. Her spirit will forever be a guiding light to her beloved family and friends. Celina's journey through life was a beautiful testament to the power of love and the strength of family ties. Her memory will be treasured by those who were fortunate enough to know her, and her influence will continue to be felt by many.
