It’s with great sadness that we announce the passing of Charles ‘Charlie’ Dafoe on Tuesday April 2, 2024, in his 97th year.
Beloved husband of Bea, father of Julie Porchak (Garry), Deb Campbell (Doug), grandfather of Terry Porchak (April), Tracy Wilson (Kevin), Sarah Campbell (Paul), Scott Campbell (Nicole), and great-grandfather of Emily, Jax, Lyla, Ryker and Oliver. Predeceased by his first wife Jean (1998), and daughter Liz Schlueter (2009).
Charles was a lifelong resident of Oxford County and was well known in the farming community. He worked very hard throughout his life and never slowed down despite his age.
He loved to keep busy whether it was gardening, mowing the lawn as well as the neighbour’s lawn, lifting a few boxes if you were moving, looking after someone’s home while they were away… and he did it with a smile and perhaps threw in a joke or two. He’s always had a love for animals and had many dogs and cats over his lifetime.
His current cat Pete must be missing him as he can be found daily curled up in his chair, waiting for him to return.
In lieu of a funeral, there will be a Celebration of life on Sunday May 5, 2024, from 1 to 4 p.m., at 510 Admiral St., Woodstock, Ontario.
Please join us to share memories of the good times, perhaps a few sad times, and connect with those whose lives he touched.
