On Tuesday October 21,2025, Chris passed away due to complications from COPD. He was born in London, Ontario on July 13, 1949.
Chris excelled at his schooling getting high praise from his teachers and professors but this was brought to an abrupt halt due to a diagnosis of schizophrenia. Even though this caused great distress at times, he was able to graduate the Victoria School of Art as well as earn a lab technician diploma which led to employment in a seismology lab. In spite of his illness, Chris remained a sweet, compassionate man who made beautiful art, enjoyed music of many genres, nature, and who was an avid TV sports fan.
He will be deeply missed by his sisters, Sharon Carruthers of London, Patricia (Allin) Brady of Haliburton, Janice (John) Kelly of Norwich, along with sister-in-law Maricha Carruthers of Vancouver. Chris was greatly loved by his many nieces, nephews and their children. Chris was predeceased by his parents Sonia and George, oldest brother George, and nephews Ian and Paul.
Cremation has taken place, with interment alongside his parents in St Peter’s Cemetery, London, Ontario at a later date.
Many thanks to the caring and compassionate Staff of Kensington Village LTC.
