Clifford Harold Barnim

           Clifford ‘Cliff’ Barnim passed away peacefully with Robin Shelly by his side on Wednesday February 18, 2026, at the age of 63, at Sakura House in Woodstock, Ontario.

           Born on May 11, 1963 in Tillsonburg, Ontario, Cliff was the second youngest of eleven children born to Audrey Gloria Barnim (née Fenner-Powell) and Clifford Harold Barnim formerly of Springford, Ontario.

           Cliff was known for his caring and generous nature.  He would do whatever he could to help others and had a deep love for animals, sharing a special bond with his pets and always ensuring they were cared for before himself.  He was kind-hearted, patient, and believed in teaching right from wrong with understanding and explanation.  An avid outdoorsman, Cliff enjoyed hunting and fishing and proudly displayed his trophies.  Some of his most peaceful moments were spent fishing at night under the Lisgar Bridge in Tillsonburg, sitting by a bonfire and listening to the quiet of the night. Nature was where he found calm and reflection.

           Cliff is survived by his son Dezmond Shelly, his brother Terry Barnim, his sisters Judy Westbrook, Donna Leffler, Jennifer Hoffman, and many nieces and nephews.  He was predeceased by his father Clifford Barnim (1968), his mother Audrey Barnim (2021), his brothers Morley Barnim (2002) and John Barnim (2023), his brother-in-law Dennis Westbrook (2021), his cousin Sherri Hughes (2021), and his nephew Donald Grant (2011).

           From his son:  Though we didn’t have as much time together as I wish we had, I carry respect for you and hope you are at peace.

          Cremation has taken place.  A private celebration of life will be held at a later date.  In lieu of flowers, donations in Cliff’s memory may be made to a cancer society of your choice.
