Daniel Nickol

          Daniel Blair Nickol, age 57, passed away peacefully at home, surrounded by his loved ones on July 11, 2025, after a hard-fought battle with cancer. Known for his strong spirit and commendable personality,  Dan fought until the very end, just as he had lived—fearlessly with determination.

          He was the beloved son of Brant ‘Doc’ and Norma Nickol (nee Cowan).  Cherished brother of Karol McFarlane (Ted) and Andy Nickol (Kathy).  Dan was husband to Jen Gowing, and proud father of Brendan Nickol, Lyndsy Nickol, Emily Gowing, Kaya Gowing, and stepfather to Jocelyne (Jesi) Pilkey.  Loving uncle to his many nieces, nephews, and their children.

          Dan held his extended family friendships close to his heart, as Dan would say, "you know who you are”.  Those who knew him will remember him not just for his boundless freedom and passion for Harley Davidson, but also for his loyalty and humour.  He was the symbol of strength and courage for those who knew him.  His legacy will ride on forever.

 There will be no funeral service.  The Gathering of Dan's Family and Friends will take place on Saturday August 9th, 2025, from 1 to 5 p.m., at the Royal Canadian Legion - Branch 153, 16 Durham Street, Tillsonburg, Ontario.  Donations in Dan's memory to The Poppy Fund or to the Canadian Cancer Society  would be greatly appreciated.
