David Florent Goris

          David Florent Goris, born December 20th,1953, in Simcoe, Ontario, passed away peacefully surrounded by his loved ones on April 28th, 2026.  David was the beloved husband of Darlene (Schott) of 45 years, and a devoted father to Jennifer (John).  He was predeceased by his son James, as well as his parents Florent and Vera.  He is survived by several brother and sister in-laws, and nephews and nieces.

          He raised his family in Woodstock, Ontario, where he built a life rooted in hard work and dedication.  David spent many years repairing cars and was known as a talented and dependable mechanic – someone people could always count on to lend a hand or solve a problem.  In his spare time, David enjoyed fishing, restoring cars, and was a passionate history buff - interests that reflected his patience, skill, and curiosity about the world.  After he retired, he also embraced being a devoted big brother, a role he took great pride in.

          Above all, David’s greatest joy in life was his grandchildren, Violet and Alexander.  He cherished every moment spent with them - whether it was cuddling, taking long walks, or enjoying trips to the park.  He was always ready for an adventure and created countless treasured memories with them.

          David will be remembered as kind, loving and loyal man who put his family first.  His quiet strength, generous spirit, and unwavering devotion to those he loved will be deeply missed and forever remembered.
