Diane M. Lazenby

          Diane Marie Lazenby (née Vandendriessche) of Aylmer passed away peacefully, after a short but courageous battle with cancer, at London Health Sciences Centre on Thursday April 16, 2026, in her 70th year.

          Beloved wife of Ken Lazenby.  Loving mother of Ryan Cook (Kristen) of Tavistock and Krista Clifford (Jason) of Kincardine.  Dear step-sister of Cindy Irving (Chuck) of Nova Scotia.  Dear sister-in-law of Perry Lazenby of St. Thomas.  Proud and devoted grandmother to Brianna, Avery, Carter, and Nathaniel.  Born in St. Thomas, Ontario on May 21, 1956, Diane was the daughter of the late Joseph and Delores Vandendriessche (née Powers) formerly of Orwell.  She was predeceased by her father, Joseph Vandendriessche (1977), her mother, Delores Vandendriessche (née Powers) (2011), her stepfather Fred Dean (2024), and her stepbrother Barry Dean (2008).

          Diane was a proud and dedicated employee of Tillsonburg District Memorial Hospital for 43 years.  She was a lifelong animal lover who was passionate about helping dogs and cats find their forever homes.  She also took great pride in her beautiful penmanship.  Above all, she loved her family deeply, who were truly the greatest joy in her life.

          The family extends heartfelt thanks to the doctors, nurses, and staff of the Oncology Department at London Health Sciences Centre for their compassionate care and dedication.

          Cremation has taken place.  A private family burial will take place in Aylmer Cemetery.  A Celebration of Diane’s life will be held on Saturday May 9, 2026, from 1 to 4 p.m., at the Knights of Columbus Hall, 265 Wellington Street St., Thomas Ontario.  In lieu of flowers, donations in Diane’s memory may be made to London Health Sciences Foundation , or Helping Paws Rescue in Aylmer, and would be greatly appreciated.
