Donald Richard “Rick” Lines, our beloved husband, father, grandfather, brother, uncle and friend, passed away peacefully on Saturday January 11, 2025 at Woodstock Hospital, with his wife and brother by his side. Born on August 27, 1951 in Winnipeg, Rick was a loving partner to his wife Rose. He is survived by his children Tanya (Ryan), Terry (Laci), Troy, Mallory, and Benjamin. He took immense pride in being a grandfather to Alec, Cordelia, Rikie, Brady, Adeline, Elliott, and Holly. Rick was predeceased by his granddaughter Mataya, 25 years to the day.
Resilient throughout his life’s journey - he once survived being hit by a train. The irony that he would then live beside a train station for the better part of the last 30 years was not lost on him.
A special thank you to Rick’s brother Joe, who spent every night at the hospital watching over Rick for his last week with us. To the palliative care team at Woodstock Hospital, we will be forever grateful for your kindness and professionalism during Rick’s stay, up to and including his final moments. We cannot thank you enough.
Rick always loved a party so, friends and family please join us to celebrate a life well lived on Sunday January 26th, 2025, from 1 to 4 p.m., at the Royal Canadian Legion, 642 Dundas Street, Woodstock, Ontario. Come tip your glass and share your stories. Memorial donations to the Canadian Cancer Society would be most appreciated by his family.
