Dorothy McEachern

          It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Dorothy Leota McEachern (nee Olds) on July 16th, 2025, in University Hospital, London Ontario.  She was surrounded by absolute unconditional love from when she arrived at University Hospital until her very last breath.

          Dorothy was born on December 29th, 1957, in Tillsonburg, Ontario.  Dorothy was the cherished baby sister to eight other siblings.  Dorothy was a beautiful, kind, and loving woman who absolutely adored her pets, and she had many over the years.  Her radiant smile had the power to brighten the darkest of rooms, and her laugh was so wonderfully contagious; it brought joy to everyone around her.  She will be profoundly missed by her family and all who had the privilege of knowing her.

          She leaves behind her devoted children, Mark McEachern (wife Amanda McEachern) and Benjamin McEachern (wife Sonya McEachern).  Dorothy was a proud grandmother to Max (12), MyIa (10), Maverick (5), and Nora (3), who were the lights of her life.  She has been welcomed into heaven with open arms by her parents Maxine and Benjamin Olds, her older brother Harold Olds, and sister Janet Olds.  Dorothy is survived by her loving siblings: Jim Olds (wife Kathleen Mary), Katherine Olds, Leo Olds (wife Lynn), Wendy Olds (Fred Calma), Shawn Olds (wife Carol), and Dwight Olds (wife Brenda).  She will be deeply missed by her many nieces and nephews, including Adam and Alicia Olds, Jeff and Chris Olds, Michelle and Ryan Calma, Matthew Olds, and Micki and Heidi Olds.

          Cremation has taken place.  A Celebration of life, for her family members and close friends to attend, will be held for Dorothy on August 2, 2025, beginning at 1 p.m., at 443 Angling Road, Waterford, Ontario N0E1Y0.  Burial arrangements will be confirmed within the family.
