In loving memory of Elisabeth Banholzer

Elisabeth Banholzer passed away peacefully at the age of 103 on Thursday December 11, 2025 at her beloved home in London, Ontario, surrounded by her family.   She was the beloved wife of the late Gerhard Banholzer (d. June 16, 2015) for 55 years.  Loving mother of the late Alfred (d. Dec 27, 2007), cherished mother-in-law to Elke and devoted grandmother to Cleo.

Elisabeth was born in Nürnberg, Germany and immigrated to London, Ontario at the age of 31 where she met and married Gerhard.  She dedicated her professional life to nursing, working with compassion and commitment in the delivery room as Head Nurse at Victoria Hospital.  After her retirement,  Elisabeth continued to volunteer for another 20 years.  Her dedication to nursing was truly her calling. Elisabeth loved life, her family and her friends.  She enjoyed her home and garden and especially loved travelling in Ontario and abroad with her husband.  She will be fondly remembered by many friends and family in London and overseas, her colleagues at Victoria Hospital (1954-1986) and her classmates of the Class of 1961. 

In keeping with Elisabeth´s wishes cremation has taken place, followed by a private interment at Oakland Cemetery.  Wareing Cremation Services, 161 Broadway St., Tillsonburg, Ontario was entrusted with Final Arrangements.
