Elizabeth Rose Lirette

          With heavy hearts we announce the passing of Liz Lirette (née D’Auvernay).  After a short illness she died surrounded by family on her 46th wedding anniversary.

          She met the love of her life, Paul Lirette, in 1975 when she was only 15 years old and they married in 1979.  They had three children, Tammy (Janine), Amber (Keaton Bales) and Robert (Zephyra), and they raised their family in Brampton, Ontario.  She was Nana to seven grandchildren, Athea, Lincoln and Amber’s five children.  They shared their lives with many pets that brought her happiness.  Predeceased by her mother June Briggs, two brothers, David and Paul, and in-laws Geraldine and Albenie Lirette.  Liz leaves behind her two sisters Brenda (John) and Eleanor, brother Bobby (Irena), and sisters-in-law Yvonne (John) and Gloria (Manuel).

          Liz retired from the Chrysler plant in Bramalea in 2022 after 25 years of dedicated service where she made lifelong friends.  Liz loved to travel, taking many trips to the Caribbean, USA, Greece and throughout Canada.  She especially loved cruises and trips to New Brunswick.  She loved travelling with her family and friends, especially John and Yvonne, and Ken and Donna.  Liz loved Bingo and we called her the Bingo Queen.  Liz loved watching game shows – new and old.  Her children remember her love for disco, oldies and country music.

          On May 10th, 2025, friends and family gathered to celebrate Liz’s 65th birthday.  She spent time chatting and taking pictures with those who knew and loved her most.  Paul and their children would like to thank Yvonne for her support with the party and care during Liz’s illness.  And a special thanks to the Woodstock Hospital, Care Partners, Sakura House and all of the doctors, nurses, PSW’s and volunteers who cared for her and us. 

          In lieu of flowers, donations in honour of Liz made to  VON Sakura House are most appreciated.
