Elizabeth A. McBean

October 15, 1947 — January 26, 2025

Woodstock, Ontario

Elizabeth McBean, affectionately known as Liz, passed away on Sunday January 26, 2025, at the age of 77, at VON Sakura House in Woodstock, Ontario.  Born on October 15, 1947 in Paisley, Scotland, Liz eventually made her home in Woodstock, Ontario, Canada.

A devoted nurse, Liz served in both Scotland and Canada, dedicating her life to caring for others.  Her compassionate nature and big heart made everyone she encountered feel valued and important.  Many of her children’s friends adopted her as a second mother, a testament to her nurturing spirit.  An avid music lover, Liz enjoyed the sounds of the sixties, with her favorite being Rod Stewart.  She fondly recalled the time she attended one of his concerts, a highlight on her bucket list.

Liz had a zest for life, relishing day trips and attending penny sales.  Family gatherings brought her the greatest joy, creating cherished memories with her daughters Debbie (Kurt) and Lisa (Ken), and her son David (Charlotte).  She was a proud Grandmother to Kayleigh (Mike), Chris (Beth), Keeran, Caitlin, and Sara, and a Great-Grandmother to Brodee.  She was predeceased by her husband Lauchlan, her parents, and her brother Walter.  She is survived by her sisters Gena, Helen, and Gertie, and her brother James.  Liz will be deeply missed by her nieces, nephews, and her extended family, all of whom felt her warmth and love.

Elizabeth McBean leaves behind a legacy of kindness, and compassion in the hearts of all who knew her.
