Ellen Laurene Lyon

          Ellen Laurene Lyon (nee McCready), in her 96th year, passed away on Wednesday December 3, 2025 at the Dearness Home in London, Ontario.

          Beloved wife of the late Herbert Edward Lyon (d. Dec. 25, 2010).  Mother of Kenneth (Claire) Lyon of Peterborough, Gary (d Nov. 27, 2025) (Sue) Lyon of Toronto, Sharon (Rudy) Gordon of London, and Karen (d June 4, 2010) (Kevin) Wareing of London.  Sister to Carol (late Isaac) Taylor of Gravenhurst, Anna (late Bob) Harper, and Ruth (late Tom) Bousfield.  She was the Grandmother of Mark, Michael, Aaron, Meagan, Geoffrey, Alexis, Robert, Becky, Ian, Kelly, and Chris, and Great Grandmother of Aria, Penny, Izzy, Margot, Clark, Emma, Avery, Rowan, Elena, Rome, Jack, Carter, Molly, Noah, Oliver, and Lewis.

          Ellen was born on the Hartley farm in Halton and grew up in Toronto where she met and married Herb Lyon.  Her journey was blessed with love, laughter, friends, family, apple pie, chicken and dumplings, travel, encouragement, faith, PIT, black licorice, community and church outreach, and Earl Grey Tea.  Her heart remains in Muskoka, and in everyone she touched.

          In keeping with Ellen’s wishes cremation has taken place.  A Celebration of Life will be planned for the new year and those details will be added here once decisions have been finalized.
