Fern Shelley

          Fern Shelley (nee Reid) was born on November 11, 1940 and she passed away on September 23, 2025 in her 85th year with loving family by her side at Hamilton General Hospital. 

          She was predeceased by her loving husband Ross Shelley.  Fern will be deeply missed by her children Robert (Lorna), Patty (Greg), Dennis (Amanda), and Sheryl (Tim), her 23 grandchildren, and 15 great grandchildren.  Dear sister of Donna Kennedy, Irene Earls, and Wayne (Annette) Davis, and sister-in-law of Dianne (Frank) Ruysseveldt, and Opal Logan.  Fern will be remembered by all of her nieces and nephews.  Predeceased by her parents Charles Reid and Retta (Reid) and Melvin Davis, her sisters Dorothy Hegman, June (Russell) Butcher, and Barb (Glen) Langfield, sisters-in-law Mary Ann (Roy) Schram, Bonnie (Bob) Dayman, Donna (James) Purdy, brothers-in-law Charles Kennedy and John Shelley.

          Special thank you to Hamilton General Hospital, Critical Care Unit Fourth Floor, for their care and compassion. 

          A Celebration of Fern’s Life will be held  and those details will be announced here once decisions have been finalized.  There will be a private interment.  Memorial donations to the Hamilton General Hospital Foundation would be most appreciated.
