It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of our dear Mom. Fran was born at Marsh Lake in Kipling, Ontario. It was a place that always held a special place in her heart.
Daughter of the late Ernest and Ivy Olsen. Predeceased by husbands Nick Yewsuk and Hugh Montgomery. Loving Mom to Millie (Dean) Moir, Arla (Doug) Swartz, and Allan (Cathy) Montgomery. Special Grams / Grandma to Lindsay (Joe), Bryan (Laura), Adam (Ashley), and Michael. Adoring Gigi to Vincent, Adrian, Tony, Wade, Frank, Jack, Ava, Aaron and Austin. Survived by her sister Fay Lajeunesse (Murray - deceased), brother Garry (Pam), and sister-in-law Eileen (Don) McPhee. Fran will be fondly remembered by many nieces and nephews. Predeceased by her siblings, Dorothy (Sy), Don (Shirley), Les (Jean), Albert (Pat), and Ray (Viv).
Fran moved from northern Ontario 15 years ago to be closer to her family. During her time in Woodstock, she made many friends in her building. She was known for her flair for fashion, and lots of baking which she generously shared with others. Some of her hobbies included, quilting, puzzles and watching the Leaf games. Fran volunteered for many organizations over the years which gave her great pleasure.
A special thank you to Dr. Vu, Karen, and Staff who gave Mom exceptional care and kindness over the years. Our family would also like to thank the doctors, nurses and staff at Woodstock Hospital for their care and kindness to Mom in her final days.
Some day when fades the Golden sun, our blessed Lord will say, “Well Done”! Well done indeed Mom, we will miss you.
Private interment of ashes will be at the Warren Cemetery at a later date. A celebration of life will be held in northern Ontario where all are welcome to attend and share your memories of Fran. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Crohn's and Colitis Canada, or a charity of your choice.
