Gale Kelly

July 3, 1941 — October 9, 2024

Woodstock, Ontario

       Gale Francis Kelly passed peacefully at VON Sakura House on Wednesday October 9, 2024 in his 84th year.  He leaves behind his beloved wife Mae (nee Daines) together for over 47 years.  Cherished Father of Boyd (Lynn), Derrick, Jean Lee (Rick), Janet Capuano (Dave), Sandra McKichan (Mike), and Scot (Marie).  Stepfather to Terry Webb (Pat), Sherry Nichols (Bob deceased), Kim Webb (Deb), and Robin Webb (Terry). Gale is survived by his brothers Wayne Kelly and Bill Kelly.  Loving grandfather to many grandchildren, great grandchildren, nieces and nephews.  Dad will be missed dearly by his best friend Karst Roos.  Predeceased by his parents Francis and Jean Kelly (nee Campbell), his sister Dorothy Smith (Larry), his grandson Lyell Lee, and his stepdaughter Karen McLean.

       Gale was an employee of Kelsey Hayes in Woodstock for over 25 years.  He then started his own business, Kelly Delivery Service, which he operated until his retirement.  Dad was a lover of Sports, a gifted Hockey player, playing many years with the Woodstock Oldtimers. He loved his London Knights hockey team. He was a gifted golfer as well. 

       A special thanks to Kim and Albert Sinke for going above and beyond and being there every step of the way. The family would like to Thank Dr. Brock Tompkins and Staff.  A very special thanks to the Heart Failure Clinic at St. Joseph’s Hospital; they gave Dad a few more years of quality of life and we will be eternally grateful to Dr. Christopher McIntire, Sarah, Christine, Kerry and Danielle who were with us through this journey and became like family.

      In keeping with Dad’s wishes there will be no service or visitation.  A celebration of life will be announced at a later date.  In lieu of flowers, please consider memorial donations to The London St. Joseph’s Heart Failure Clinic or a charity of one’s choice.  Wareing Cremation Services, 225 Norwich Ave., Woodstock was entrusted with Final Arrangements.  Your messages of condolence may be shared here at wareingcremation.ca
