Geoffrey Michael Barker

          It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Geoff Barker at the age of 84.  Beloved husband of Hazel for over 62 years, Geoff will be lovingly remembered by his children, Darran (Jolene), and Teresa (Mike).  Cherished Grandad to his four grandsons, Cole (Shay), Mackenzie (Kara), Cameron (Rachel), and Nathan.  Proud Great Grandad to six great-grand children: Grayson, Hayden, Harrison, Jameson, Brynn, and Jack.  He also leaves behind many family members and dear friends in England.

          Geoff had a lifelong love of cycling and football that remained with him throughout his life.  He was a devoted supporter of his hometown club, Nottingham Forest and enjoyed spending countless hours watching cycling on television.  While living in England, Geoff was a founding member of the Waggoners Caravan Club.  After emigrating to Canada, his love of caravanning continued with the purchase of a trailer, where he and Hazel spent many happy summers making memories together.

          The family would like to extend their heartfelt thanks to the nurses and staff at VON Sakura House for their exceptional care, compassion, and support they provided.  Their professionalism and understanding during a difficult time will always be remembered and appreciated.

          A celebration of life will be held at a later date.  In lieu of flowers, donations in Geoff’s memory may be made to VON Oxford  and VON Sakura House .
