With heavy hearts the family of George Henry Beattie of Ingersoll, formally of Thamesford, announce his passing on Sunday March 2, 2025 in his 86th year, peacefully at Sakura House in Woodstock, Ontario with family by his side.
Husband of 66 years to Mary Anne (nee Haycock). Beloved father of Maria Arsenault (Larry), Vicki Schram (Archie), Michelle Dupuis (Keith), Heather Benjamin (Dave), all of Ingersoll, and Michael Beattie (Stacy) of Woodstock. Survived and loved by several grandchildren and great grandchildren. Brother of Sharon Sweeney of Arizona, and Helen Cocchetto of London. Predeceased by his parents Harold ‘Joe’ and Ethel Beattie (nee Mossip) and in-laws Lloyd and Bertha ‘Bunny’ Haycock, and his grandson Kevin Royles.
George was an avid Blue Jays fan with the Jays sending George home with a training camp win. George was a long haul truck driver for most of his working years.
In keeping with George’s wishes, there will not be a service and cremation has taken place. A celebration of life will take place at a later date (those details will be shared here once decisions have been made). In memory of George, donations to Sakura House in Woodstock would be greatly appreciated.
