Peacefully on August 1, 2026 at his home surrounded by family George Edward Ernest Scott, in his 92nd year passed on to a much better place. George lived in the same home on the family farm his entire life, most of it with his loving wife Muriel (predeceased 2018).
George was a loving father to Linda (Ed) Post, Cheryl Loree, Wendy (Scott) Sumsion, and Judy (Martin) McCaffrey. George was Papa to eleven grandchildren, Amanda (Greg) Pennings, Edward (Eden) Post, Scott Post, Matthew Scott, Kyle (Samantha) Loree, Dillon Loree, Wyatt Sumsion, Owen Sumsion, Pacey Sumsion, Quin McCaffrey, and Nathan McCaffrey. He was also a great Papa to twenty great-grandchildren. Also special to George were Mike (Penny) Ciarrocco of Nova Scotia, and Leroy (Tammey) Muir of Oxford Centre.
George was the last surviving member of his family. He took over the farm from his parents and farmed for 60 years with the help of his wife and 4 daughters. He was a farmer his entire life and loved every minute whether it was milking cows, feeding pigs or working the fields. George was member of the Woodstock Masonic Lodge for 65 years.
Special thank you to Care Partners, Abby Oldroyd and the Palliative care outreach team for the wonderful care Dad received. Our family would like to express our heartfelt gratitude for the exceptional care, compassion, and kindness you showed our Dad. Because of your care, Dad was able to spend his final days with dignity and peace surrounded by his loved ones.
