September 2,1946 - January 5, 2023
Gerry Butterfield, formerly of R.R.#6 Woodstock, passed away peacefully surrounded by the love of his family on Thursday January 5, 2023, in his 77th year, at Woodstock Hospital.
Loving father, father figure and stepfather to Bonnie, Jeremy, Christine, Melissa, Lisa, Mike and Matt. Cherished “Poppa” of K.C. (Velma), Breanna, Katelyn. Alexis, and Shyanne. Great “Poppa Gerry” to Kaden, Kai, Kinsley, and the late Wesson (2023). Dear brother of Pauline, Shirley, Vanessa, and the late Robert Butterfield (1987). Predeceased by his parents Edward (1984) and Joan Butterfield (1994). He will be fondly remembered by his many nieces, nephews, extended family and friends.
Gerry had such a big heart and cared deeply for those around him. He shared his passions for motorcycles, the great outdoors, video games, storytelling and loved spending time with his family. Gerry was known to many as a mechanical genius that could create or fix anything and is a racing legend. The word “Can’t” didn’t exist in his vocabulary. Like Pandora's box, he was always full of surprises and no matter what, he always lived life with a sense of humor.
The family would like to express their deepest gratitude to Velma and KC for their dedication in caring for Gerry over the years.
Cremation has taken place. Wareing Cremation Services, 225 Norwich Ave., Woodstock, Ontario was entrusted with Final Arrangements.
