Gordon Hubert Barclay, beloved husband, father, and friend, passed away peacefully at the age of 87.
Born on March 6, 1939, in Windsor, Ontario, Gordon grew up in Hamilton before moving to Kitchener. He later settled in the Baldwin Place Community in Tillsonburg, where he lived for many years. Early in his career he was a small business owner, and he went on to work for Greb Shoes in Kitchener, Ultramar, Water Conditioning Canada, and Culligan, where he served as Branch Manager. Under his leadership, the Culligan branch achieved top sales recognition in Canada for many years.
Gordon was full of life and had a gift for bringing people together. He was a proud member of the Kinsmen and loved hosting family and friends at home or spending relaxed times at Lake Huron. When he and Avis traveled, they always seemed to attract a party, creating joyful memories wherever they went.
Gordon is survived by his loving wife Avis, his sons Stephen (Elaine), and Blair (Patti), his brother Bill Barclay of Chilliwack, B.C., and his many dear friends and extended family. Predeceased by his parents Gordon and Prudence Barclay.
Please join us for a Celebration of Gordon's life on Sunday April 26, 2026, from 1 to 4 p.m., at the Baldwin Place Residence Centre, 142 Weston Drive, Tillsonburg, Ontario. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations made to the Cancer Research Society or to the Tillsonburg District Memorial Hospital Foundation are appreciated.
