Greg Eaton

January 23, 1957 — January 26, 2024

Woodstock

It is with great sadness, and heavy hearts, that the family of Greg Eaton announce his passing on Friday January 26, 2024, at the age of 67, surrounded by his girls, leaving us all with an immense sorrow and a void that can never be filled.

A family man through and through, Greg leaves behind his daughters Marcey, Meghan, and Mallory.  The bond they shared was immeasurable, and the memories they created together will forever hold a special place in their hearts.

Greg doted on his grandchildren Paige, Brielle, Zander, and Zoe with such adoration, cherishing every moment spent in their company.  He never missed a game, practice, recital, play, or carnival, not only sharing in their big things but all the little things too, just as he had always done with his girls.  He showed them, in his actions every day, what it is to be a good, kind, loyal, caring and compassionate man.

In addition to loving his family, Greg also leaves behind his son-in law Josh Hodkinson, who shared in the joy of being a part of this remarkable man’s life.  Together, they formed a bond built on mutual respect and a deep love of the family they both cherished.

Greg is survived by his five siblings, Cindy (Pete) Ancevicius, Brent Eaton, Mary Chris (Al) Everaert, Mark (Judy) Eaton, and Colleen (Lee) Main.  Greg will be missed his many nieces and nephews, friends, and family, including Heather and Brad Morgan.

Greg was predeceased by his parents Donald and Marianne Eaton, and sister-in law Sunny.

To know Greg was to be constantly reminded of his generous nature.  His acts of kindness were countless, going above and beyond to bring joy and ease to those around him.  He would selflessly set aside his own needs to provide for others, always making sure that his loved ones were taken care of.  His unmatched work ethic and dedication to his family served as inspiration to all who had the privilege of crossing paths with him.

Greg embodied a rare combination of thoughtfulness and dependability, constantly going out of his way to ensure the comfort and happiness of those he loved.  He could be relied upon without a moment’s hesitation, always ready to lend his time, expertise, and support.  His dependability was not only found in his actions but also in his dedication to his family, the cornerstone of his unwavering love.

Greg’s loyalty knew no bounds, as he stood by the sides of his loved ones through thick and thin.  He was a pillar of strength and support, always there to lend a listening ear, a comforting embrace, or a helping hand.  His unwavering presence in the lives of those he cared for was a testament to his remarkable character.

Greg’s legacy is one that will be forever cherished and remembered with love.  His impact on the lives of all who had the privilege of knowing him is immeasurable.  He leaves behind a trail of beautiful memories, cherished moments, and a profound sense of gratitude for having shared in the presence of such an extraordinary soul.

To Greg Eaton, we say, thank you for the love you shared, the joy you brought, and the gentle reminders of what it truly means to live a life of purpose and unconditional love.  May your soul rest in eternal peace, knowing that your love will forever live in the hearts of those you leave behind.

The family would like to express their sincere gratitude to Dr. Sondhi, and homecare nurse Christine.

In lieu of flowers, the family would appreciate donations made in Greg’s name to the Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation, or The Terry Fox Foundation.

Though we mourn his loss, we must also celebrate the incredible mark he made on this world.

Whether you were family, friend, co-worker, neighbour, or an acquaintance, please join the family in sharing stories and memories, with some food and drinks, as we remember and say farewell to an incredible man.
