Harold Reuben Helmer
February 1, 1930 - October 28, 2022

Harold passed away peacefully at the age of 92, on October 28, 2022, surrounded by loving family in his own home.

He was the last surviving son of the late Stanley L. Helmer Sr. and Violet Clara May (nee Rutt) Helmer. Harold was predeceased by his siblings Mary Elizabeth Dobbs (Clyne), James Henry Helmer, Stanley L. Helmer Jr. (Jean), Ruby Lois Modritts (Martin), Susan Helmer, George Melvin ‘Pokey’ Helmer (Dorothy), June Doris Earls (Howard), Roy Lee Helmer (Bernice), and step siblings Lawrence Valouch (Edith), Elsie Allenback (Fred), Clara Holton (Ray), and Larry Wayne Helmer (Sandra).
Harold is survived by his wife of more than 74 years,

Doris Evelena Helmer (nee Graves), his sons Bradley Harold Helmer of Pennsylvania, and Terry Bryan Helmer of Walsingham, his grandsons Brett Ashley Helmer (Ellen) of Connecticut, Richard Aaron Helmer (Tarah) of London, and Ryan Lee Helmer of London, and by his many nieces and nephews.
Harold and Doris have lived on their farm in Walsingham since 1952, where they grew tobacco and grain.

Harold was an avid woodsman all his life. He enjoyed many winters in his woodlot cutting logs and firewood. He loved tinkering on old clocks, tractors, and Lincoln cars, but mostly he loved family and friends.
As he wished, Harold will be interred without services, at Mount Pleasant Cemetery in Walsingham, Ontario.

The Helmer family are thankful to the wonderful support team of RNs and PSWs, who made it possible for Harold to pass at home as he wished, and also for easing his family through their suffering and grieving at this time.
