Harold J. Kaufmann

          Harold John Kaufmann passed away peacefully with his children by his side on Tuesday April 21, 2026, at the age of 95. 

          Beloved husband of the late Geraldine ‘Jean’ (nee Bradt) (1993).  Loving father of David (Cathy) and Darlene (Pat Norris).  Cherished grandfather of Sean (Iwona Szkudlarek) and Brandon Kaufmann, Meaghan (Mike) Sears, Mack (Deidre Donnell) Kaufmann Catlack and Stacey (Druv Spruce) Kaufmann Norris.  Great grandfather of Bryn and Lincoln Sears.  Predeceased by his parents John and Elsie Kaufmann, and his sisters Ilene (Cliff) Mauthe and Lucina (d. Russ) Barnes.  Dear friend of Dorothy Alton.

          Harold drove truck transporting coal and worked for Port Burwell utilities.  He was employed as an electrician for Ken Everitt for many years before starting his own business.  During this time, he also delivered mail to rural Port Burwell which he continued to do after retiring from his electrical business for 50 years until the age of 80.  He was a longtime member of the Vienna Lions Club.  Harold was a kind, caring, selfless man who always had a smile.  He loved to cut grass in his “daisy duke” cut off jeans and straw hat.  He also loved to travel and give whisker rubs.  

 “I don’t care if it rains or freezes, I’m a good friend of the good Lord Jesus.”

          The family would like to thank the Staff of Terrace Lodge Aylmer for their excellent care, kindness and compassion.

          In honouring his wishes, cremation has taken place and there will be no Service.  A private family interment will take place at a later date.   Memorial donations can be made to the charity of one’s choice.
