Harry Vanderhoek

 May 24, 1960 - August 1, 2023

Harry put up a strong fight after suffering a heart attack and subsequent complications. We had to say goodbye to Harry Christopher Vanderhoek on Tuesday August 1, 2023, at London University Hospital.

Loving father and best friend to Alana (Nick) Krzysztofik and devoted “Poppa H” to granddaughters Brielle and Cecilia.  Harry is lovingly remembered by spouse Anna Marie Vanderhoek (Duronio) and his sisters, Karen and Patricia.  Harry is survived by his mother-in-law and father-in-law, sisters-in-law, brothers-in-law, nieces and nephews, cousins, and numerous friends who are left to mourn this great loss.  Predeceased by his parents, Harry Vanderhoek Sr. and Helen Vanderhoek (Munro).

Harry dedicated his life to BDI, where he built many lasting friendships over the span of over 40 years. He will be missed by his clients and many colleagues. Anyone who knew Harry, knew he was always up for a good time. He loved spending time with his friends in the outdoors; cottaging, ice-fishing, and golfing.  He had a passion for all things astronomy and loved spending evenings admiring the moon and the stars.  Harry spent many summers at Balm Beach living the cottage life, with family and friends. Balm Beach will be his final resting place, so that he can keep the good times rolling!

A celebration of life to honour Harry will be held on Saturday, August 12, 2023, from 1 to 4 p.m., at the Charles Dickens Pub in Woodstock, Ontario where he spent countless hours enjoying great company and of course, plenty of beers!  Cheers to a life well lived Harry!  Enjoy the heavenly golf courses, rock concerts, and unlimited PBR Lights. We will miss you and love you forever.

In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests donations be made to The Heart & Stroke Foundation.

“So long my friend, until we meet again.  I’ll remember you and all the times that we used to sit right here on the edge of this pier and watch the sunset disappear and drink a beer.” - Luke Bryan
