Jimmie Fountain

James Allan Norman Fountain “Jimmie” passed away peacefully at Alexandra Hospital on February 6, 2024, at the age of 73, surrounded by his Children and Grandchildren.

 

Jimmie was born October 15,1950 in Arnstein Ontario.  Loving father of Elizabeth (Chris), Al (Melissa), and Stephanie (Jordan).  Loving Grampa to Madison, Ayden, Darian, Gryffin and Myla.  Survived by his former wife, Janice Fountain, and his siblings Lillian Fountain, Mable Fountain, Beigia Fountain, Percy Fountain, Ruth Davies, Roy Fountain, and Foster Family Maynard and Jeananne Brooks of Sundridge, Beverly Schneider of Sundridge and George and Fern Carpenter of South River. 

Predeceased by his parents Walter Fountain (1965) and Mary Ellen Vanduzen (1970), his twin sister Mary Fountain (1951), Fay Fountain (1954), Clarence Fountain (2005), Anna Thornington (2013) and Dorothy Benham (2021). 

 

Jimmie always enjoyed visiting up North and reliving many memories with family in Sundridge.  He loved every aspect of hockey, from watching live hockey games, paired with his lifelong friend Dana Hayward of Ingersoll, to their days as executive members of the Ingersoll B’s Hockey Club and Oxford Blues Hockey Club, to traditions like watching the Maple Leafs games over family dinners on Saturday evenings.  Jimmie also spent many hours visiting and stirring up trouble at the Miss Ingersoll Restaurant. 

 

Our family would like to thank the Staff and Medical Team at Alexandra Hospital, both in the ER and 3rd Floor, as well as the Oxford County Paramedic Services, for all of their compassion and support during this difficult time.

 

Cremation has taken place.  A Celebration of Life will be held at a later date.  

Should Family and Friends desire, memorial donations made to Alexandra Hospital Foundation or to the Alzheimer’s Society Oxford are appreciated.
