It is with great sadness that we announce the unexpected but peaceful passing of Jim Guinchard on Thursday April 17, 2025, at the age of 77.
Loving husband of Gerry (nee Byrne), and devoted father of Julie, and Phil (Jodi). Beloved brother of Ina (John) Randell, and Steve Guinchard. Predeceased by his brother Rendell Guinchard, and parents James and Freda. Many extended family and friends will dearly miss Jim.
Jim was born in Deer Lake, Newfoundland on April 25, 1948, and after High School served in the Canadian Military in the Medical Corps. He moved to Ontario and resided in Kitchener for many years. Jim owned and operated a successful food processing plant in Waterloo for several years. He retired and moved to Tillsonburg for the quiet life, but became bored and started another business as a food broker, which he worked at until his death.
Jim was a kind and humble man. He leaves his family with fond memories of his generous nature and affection for animals and birds.
Cremation has taken place with a private family interment at Tillsonburg Cemetery. As an expression of sympathy, a donation in Jim’s memory can be made to the Ontario SPCA.
Rest in peace, Jim. You will forever be in our hearts.
