James Long
James Long passed away peacefully on Monday August 16, 2021, at the age of 81, at Norview Lodge in Simcoe, Ontario.
Beloved husband of Marie Kyte. Loving Father of James (predeceased 1990), and Harvey (Joanne) of Woodstock. Sadly missed by grandchildren Paul, Drew (Trudy), Tiffany (Brandon), and by great grandchildren Monica and Emily. Remembered and missed by his sisters Gladys Ecker of Tillsonburg, and Edna Telford of St. Williams, his special niece Rose Veinot, and by his nieces and nephews. Predeceased by his parents Ray and Mary Long, sister Frances Evans, and brother Percy Long.
Jim was a long-time truck driver and owner, and he travelled all over taking Harvey and Jimmy on many trips. Jim had a passion for horses. Jim rode in Calgary in 1988 with the Steel Scouts in the Louis Riel Ride from Alberta to Saskatchewan, bringing home this photo to mark the occasion. He enjoyed woodworking and he created many beautiful pieces of work.
Cremation has taken place. Private Family burial will take place. Memorial donations to the Norview Lodge or to the Alzheimer Society are appreciated and may be made by cheque through Wareing Cremation Services, 346 Simcoe St., Tillsonburg, Ontario N4G 2J8 (519-409-5575) who have been entrusted with final arrangements.
Marie and Family wish to express their appreciation to all of the wonderful Staff at Norview Lodge in Simcoe for their special, special care of Jim; a big “Thank You” to Dr. Medva; an extra special “Thank You” to Dr. Barry Roth for the many years of care given; a sincere “Thank You” to the Alzheimer Society in Simcoe for their guidance and support; and a big and special “Thank You” to Wareing Cremation Services for all of their kindness and thoughtfulness.
