Woodstock, Ontario

With heavy hearts and deep sadness we announce the passing of James Gordon Strathdee on Thursday August 8, 2024, in his 73rd year, at the Woodstock Hospital.

James will be so very missed by his children Mark, Rick, Becky (Chris), and Angie St. Pierre (Josh). Stepfather to Patti (Ken), Vic, and Dan Nash.  James will forever be cherished and remembered by his grandchildren, Cody Nash, Austin Strathdee (Stephanie), Savannah Meseure, Logan St. Pierre, Liam St. Pierre, and Lincoln St. Pierre.  Great Grandfather to Charlotte Strathdee.  Dear friend of Jessica James, a very special thank you for your love, support, and friendship.  Survived by his sister, Darlene Kupery (nee Strathdee), and sister-in-law Joan Strathdee.  Loved very much by his nephews and nieces, Marty Strathdee, Nikki, Kyle, Megan, and Addison.  He will be greatly missed and always loved by his extended Riddell family.  Remembered by Marlene Strathdee and family, and many cousins, Aunts and Uncles.  James was predeceased by his parents Clifford, and Mildred Strathdee, his brother Grant Strathdee, brother-in-law Hank Kupery, and daughter-in-law Elizabeth Bates.

James was a welder by trade and did that for many years. He loved spending time with his grandchildren and was so proud of each of them.  He was a hard worker, and he enjoyed fishing, swimming, camping, and just being outside.  James was a funny guy; he was always telling jokes and making others laugh.  He especially loved it when his grandchildren would join in on the fun.  Your boys will miss you so much.   The last few years James had been spending summers in Temagami, catching fish, and making memories, even up until July this summer he was catching Pike off the docks he is forever “Gone Fishin “.

A special thank you to the Ingersoll Hospital, Woodstock Hospital, and the Staff at the heart failure clinic at Saint Joseph’s Hospital in London.
