Janet Van Loon

May 5, 1965 — June 17, 2024

Woodstock

Janet Ellen Van Loon (nee Scott) passed away peacefully on Monday June 17, 2024 while bravely battling cancer.  She was born on May 5, 1965 in Woodstock, Ontario.

Daughter of Robert Scott (1941-1986) and Phyllis Sager (Cavers) (1942-2018).  Janet is survived by her loving children Debbie Hilderley (Mark), Johnny Van Loon (Colton), and Keanna Van Loon (Tyler), her granddaughter Tenley Harper Hilderley, and her siblings Aileen and Wayne Scott.

Janet was a vibrant, beautiful, and talented woman.  She wore her heart on her sleeve and opened her arms to anyone in need.  Janet was a great listener and offered her unbiassed support.  The love for her children was not unnoticed.  She was their biggest advocate and cheerleader.  There was never a day that went by that she didn’t brag about them.  When Janet’s granddaughter arrived, it began a new chapter in her life. Tenley was the apple of her eye.  Being a GMA meant the world to her!

Janet’s wishes were that you please join us on Saturday July 6, 2024, from 1 to 3 p.m., at Roth Park Pavilion, 655 Highland Drive, Woodstock Ontario, for a celebration of life.

Her children would like to extend a Heartful thank you and gratitude to the Nurses and Doctors of LHSC, the Doctors, Nurses, Staff, and volunteers at VON Sakura House, and to the family and friends that supported her during her battle.  No words can describe how thankful we are.  Our family would appreciate memorial donations in support of their hike for hospice “Janet’s crew" scheduled to take place in the Fall, or to VON Sakura House, Woodstock, Ontario.

Wareing Cremation Services, 225 Norwich Ave., Woodstock has been entrusted with Final Arrangements.  Your messages of remembrance and condolence may be shared here at wareingcremation.ca
