Jeannine Major

February 16, 1930 — March 25, 2025

Woodstock, Ontario

Born and raised in Ottawa, Jeannine, her husband Gerald, and their young family eventually settled in Woodstock, Ontario where she passed away on Tuesday March 25, 2025.

She was predeceased by her husband of 50 years, Gerald Major (June 6, 2001).  Cherished mother of Johanne, Daniel (Ruth), Marc (deceased February 24, 2015), Christine (Roger), and Michael (Jada).  Beloved Nana to Christopher, Kimberly, Jennifer, Ryan, Jesse (deceased March 17, 2008), Nicole, Erika, Adam, Jack, Katheryn, and Hana, and Great Nana to seven.

Jeannine’s life was centered around her family.  Her home was the hub of all family gatherings, where there was always the smell of a delicious home-cooked meal emanating from the kitchen and a generous supply of homemade treats could always be found.  Although small in stature, she was a tower of strength and support to her family.  Much of this strength was rooted in her deep Catholic faith which guided her throughout her life, and she supported through years of volunteer work with the local parish.

She loved to listen to oldies music and was quite the dancer even in her later years.  She loved to read, and play cards - particularly bridge.  Her life and memory will be cherished and continue to provide guidance and comfort to those who loved her.

A private celebration of life will be held by the family.  In lieu of flowers, memorial donations to the Woodstock Hospital would be appreciated.
