JERRY STROOBANDT

October 7, 1949 – June 8, 2021

Jerry Stroobandt of Langton, Ontario passed away unexpectedly at home on Tuesday June 8, 2021, in his 72nd year.

Predeceased by his parents Marcella and Camiel Stroobandt, his sister Mary Louise Martin, and Simonne Kyndt his older sister in Belgium.  Loving husband and best friend of Virginia ‘Ginny’ Stroobandt for 22 years.  Loving brother of Irene (Randy) Gagnon, and Paula Willaert.  Father to Jeremy Fisher, and Brianne (Anthony) Anderson.  Devoted Grandpa to Steven, Chase, Gage, Kaylee, Tessa, and Calvin.  Remembered by his nieces and nephews.

Jerry grew up working with his family on several local tobacco farms.  He liked to go fishing and hunting when he and his friends were younger, and while a student at Glendale High School he and some high school friends started the Chess Club.  Jerry enjoyed bowling 10 pin and played on several teams in the area, including his Dad’s team.  Through the years Jerry was employed at several commercial printing shops; he was a real estate agent for several years; employed by the Salvation Army in Tillsonburg as their truck driver; and was electronics and mechanical associate at the Goodwill Store in Tillsonburg before retiring to become what some people called “the computer guy” at his home in Langton.  Jerry was an active member of the Church of Christ that meets in Tillsonburg.  He would be pleased to be remembered for his kind and generous heart.

Wareing Cremation Services, 346 Simcoe Street, Tillsonburg, Ontario has been entrusted with final arrangements.  Your messages of remembrance and condolence may be shared at wareingcremation.ca
