John Lee Barnes ‘Jack’ of London Ontario passed away on November 19th 2024.
Jack Barnes was born on March 11, 1948 in Windsor. Father to Isabella, Mathieu, Nathaniel, and Gabrielle. Husband to Celine for 30 years. Son of Cyril Barnes and Francine Lee Barnes, and brother to Janice Galivan.
Jack was a devoted music teacher in St. Thomas and Elgin County for approximately 30 years and a talented musician. Jack taught the majority of his career at Southwold Public School in St. Thomas, Ontario. Jack surrounded his life with creativity and his passion for music and touched many people’s hearts and lives. He described music as his “motivation to live and getting him this far”. In 2002, Jack retired and started his business called “Drumanticks” and performed music in schools, nursing homes, and at the Home County Festival in London, Ontario. He also facilitated drum circles with members of the community at a local church to play music. Jack will be remembered for his passion of music, sense of humour, creativity, and his warm personality.
A celebration of life will be held in spring of 2025. His family would ask people who will be attending to wear bright colours to fulfill Jack’s wishes.
