John David Bolton

July 1, 1945 – July 17, 2021

It is with profound sadness that the Bolton family announces the passing of our rock, J. David Bolton; peacefully on Saturday July 17, 2021 surrounded by loved ones, at Woodstock Hospital.

Beloved husband of Brenda, loving Father of Kristie (Scot Gregory), Andrea (Ian Brown), and his grandchildren Jordan Butler (Brandon), Emma Butler (Josh), Brooke Porter (Brady), Morgan Porter (Brennan), Carter and Gavin Slack; along with his sons-in-law Dave Butler, Brian Porter and Darren Slack.  David will be sadly missed by his brothers Ron (Mary Jo), George (Audrey), and sister Marion Fitzgerald (Ron), as well as his nieces and nephews who were always in his thoughts.  His Biking Bros Don Taylor (Beth), Rick Bell (Mary), and John Kupisz (Jackie) will greatly miss their “Bro”.  David was predeceased by his brother Stewart (1994) and daughter Tracy (2011).

David was a strong member of his community throughout his life, acting as Chairman of the Board for St. Mary’s Memorial Hospital for several years. He was a proud dairy farmer for several decades before moving onto Operations Manager at Oxford Agropro in Hickson, where he stayed for more than 25 years.  He was a very strong, kind, and gentle man who was quick to offer his support wherever it was needed.  His love for traveling on his motorcycle took him from coast to coast many times, either with Brenda at his side or with his “Bros” making many friends along the way.  His Goldwing pride and joy will still be on the road in his memory, ridden by nephew John (Nancy).  David’s infectious laugh and great smile will be immensely missed by all who had the privilege of knowing him.

The family would like to pass on our huge appreciation for all the support that both Dad and we have received from his wonderful care team.  Our journey over the last year would have been much more difficult had it not been for the support received from Dr. Jon Schiedel, his family physician; Dr. Vincent and Dr. Laba, with the London Regional Cancer Clinic; the supportive team at Woodstock Hospital; his Palliative Care Team members Pauline Marcus, NP and his home health nurse, Christine.

Cremation has taken place with a private family memorial service that followed.  A Celebration of Life for family, friends and acquaintances will be held on Thursday July 29, 2021 from 4 to 8 pm at the Westover Inn, 300 Thomas Street, St. Marys, Ontario.

Memorial contributions, in lieu of flowers, to the London Regional Cancer Centre or Woodstock Hospital would be greatly appreciated and may be made directly, or by cheque through Wareing Cremation Services, 225 Norwich Ave., Woodstock (519-290-5575) who were entrusted with final arrangements.  Your messages of remembrance and condolence may be shared at wareingcremation.ca
