John D. Dobbie

     John Douglas Dobbie passed away suddenly at home in Port Burwell, Ontario on October 21, 2024 at the age of 74.

     Beloved husband of Carol Anne Brown for over 22 years.  Proud father of Tammy Dobbie, Tracy Burke, Rebecca Dobbie, Kaylyn Dobbie (Ryan Lavigne), Leanne (Jamie) Hopcroft, Cory Brown, and Darrell Ireland.  Loving Grandfather to Darian, Colton, Lauren, Liam, Rayanna, Cadence, Amelia and Great Grandfather to Margo, Saige and Wilder.  Dear brother to William, Judy and Pat, and Alice.  Predeceased by his parents John and Dorothy Dobbie, his brother Robert, and sister-in-law Joan. 

      John was an avid outdoors man. He especially enjoyed his yearly hunting trips at the Hunt Camp, fishing on Boat Lake with his grandchildren, outings with his favourite Black Lab Buddies, and he took in all that nature offered.  John worked as a mechanic and dump truck driver over the course of his career.  He was a devoted Nascar fan and a Harley Davidson enthusiast.  John took pride in his ‘man cave’ tinkering on whatever needed to be fixed next.  He always had an open-door policy for all family and friends to come sit by the woodstove, watch the projection TV, and socialize over life and stories.  We will forever remember the many memories held in our hearts by fireside.

     A private celebration of life will be held to honour and remember John.
