John Hoiting

We regretfully announce the passing of John ‘Jan’ Hoiting on Thursday November 2, 2023, at the age of 66.  Surrounded by his family, John passed away peacefully in his hometown of Woodstock, Ontario where he was also born on June 18, 1957, to Dutch immigrants Klaas and Johanna Hoiting.

John's 66 years were marked by a life of love, compassion, and kindness.  He celebrated 43 years of a loving marriage with his wife Jan Hoiting, and he was a dedicated Father to his daughters, Katie (married to David Cordeiro) and Nikki (married to Ray Kolyn). His grandchildren, Carter and Kayla (children of Katie and David) and RayJ and Lola (children of Nikki and Ray), brought immense joy and pride into his life.  His faithful dog, Ruby, also held a special place in his heart.

John is lovingly remembered by his brother Sikke Hoiting and wife Diane, his sister Linda Klingenberg and husband John, and his brother Roger Schildermans and wife Helen, along with many cherished nieces and nephews.  Known for his generous spirit and kind heart, John's impact on his family and community was profound.  As we grieve his loss, we also celebrate the wonderful life he led and the beautiful memories he created.

A celebration of John's life will be held at a later date, allowing all who knew and loved him to come together and honor his memory.  Details of this celebration will be provided in due course.

John's legacy of love, kindness, and strong family values will continue to inspire all who knew him. He will be deeply missed but will forever remain in our hearts.
