John Theodore van Lierop

          John Theodore van Lierop of Woodstock, Ontario, passed away peacefully on Friday June 6, 2025.  He was the beloved husband of Karen van Lierop (née Richardson), and a devoted father of James van Lierop (Jennifer Knowlton), Ryan van Lierop, John van Lierop, and Richard van Lierop (Katrina Snyder).  Proud grandfather of five amazing grandchildren whom he cherished deeply: Nicholas, Nathaniel, Cassidy, Owen, and Issac van Lierop.

          John found great joy in the simple pleasures of life - especially spending time outdoors in his backyard, tending to his garden and flowers.  His passion for gardening and his love of nature were matched only by his deep love for his family and friends.  Above all, John’s unwavering love and dedication to his wife Karen were at the heart of everything he did.

          In keeping with John’s wishes, cremation has taken place.  A private celebration of life will be planned at a later date.
