It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Joseph Gilbert Ronald ‘RON’ Larocque. Surrounded by family and friends in his last few days, he left this world peacefully at the age of 86 on Thursday October 30, 2025, at Woodstock Hospital.
Ron was born in Field, Ontario and in his early days he worked on the family farm with his team of horses, Mini & Pearl, who he remembered fondly in his last days. He worked as a lumber jack in his youth and a hoisting engineer before retiring and then spending many fond years as a building superintendent in North Bay, Kitchener and Woodstock. In his early years he enjoyed hunting, fishing and playing guitar. Ron was also a 4th degree member of the Knights of Columbus.
Ron was a loving husband, father, Grandfather and Great Grandfather. Ron is survived by his wife Jacqueline Marie (Ouellette) of 62 years, his children Brian Larocque (Nancy), Lisa Fraser (Paul), his grandchildren Jordan Badeau (Austin), Kelly Larocque, Dennis Larocque (Brie Davis), and Brendan Fraser, his great grandchildren Flora Jean Badeau and Iris Fraser, his sister Claudette Boucher (Real), brother – in - law Gilles Fortier, and many nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his parents Laurent and Aline (Gagnon) Larocque, step mother Marie-Louise Aubin, father and mother – in – law Alphonse and Margaret (Sutts) Ouellette, his brothers and sisters, Simone King (Herbet-d), Fernand Larocque (Alice), Rita Brazeau (Lionel-d), Laurier Larocque (Alice), Gerard (Pat), and his brothers – in -law and sisters – in – law, Ivan, Eugene, Pauline, Bob, Janet, Mary, Elaine, Joanie, William, and by his grandchildren Dustin and Amanda Fraser.
A Memorial Mass will be held on Friday November 21st , 2025, at 11:00 a.m., at Holy Trinity Church, 1420 Devonshire Ave., Woodstock, Ontario. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations to the Alzheimer Society of Canada.
