Joyce Zuwala

          Joyce Arlene Zuwala (nee Christie) went to heaven on Saturday June 21, 2025.  She passed on peacefully in Sakura House Hospice care with her husband Peter holding her hand.

          Joyce lives on in her husband Peter Zuwala, their three children, and their three (and counting) grandchildren, Dan Zuwala, his wife Lauren and son Arthur; Luke Zuwala and his girlfriend Rachel; and Kristy Mohr, her husband Colby and sons Byram and Rory.  Joyce is survived by her younger brother Brad Christie his wife Michelle and children Brittany, Evan, Nathan, and Wesley, and by her brother-in-law Craig Kombargi and his children Ryan and Jasmin.  Joyce was predeceased by her father Vernon Christie, mother Evelyn Christie, brother Beverley Christie, and sister Linda Kombargi.

          Her family hopes to remember her kindness, compassion, and appreciation for the little things in life.  Her spirit was steadfast and full of grit and she was always devoted to the people that she loved.  Her family is grateful for the lessons she taught them in her 67 years and is at peace knowing her soul is in a better place without suffering.

          Peter and family would like to thank Sakura House and all their volunteers and Staff who made Joyce's long stay of over 100 days as comfortable as possible.  They have a tough job but handle it with grace and treated Joyce and Peter like family.

          In honour of Joyce's legacy, the family would appreciate memorial donations be made to VON Sakura House.  There is no plan for a Service at this time.
