Larry Carter

          Larry Thomas Carter passed away peacefully after a long fight with lung disease on Sunday November 30, 2025, at Victoria Hospital in London, Ontario.  Larry was surrounded by his loved ones during his final days, and he received exceptional care from the Critical Care Trauma Centre team.

          Larry was incredibly proud of his family. He was the loving father to Jacqueline (John), Kevin (Deborah) and Lindsay.  In addition to being a proud father, he was an equally proud grandfather to Isabella (Matthew), Gabrielle (Charles), Caringtyn, and Minnow, and he was honoured to become a great-grandfather to Malakai and Isaac.  He was predeceased by his parents, R. Harry and Ruby Carter, and is survived by his brothers Terry (Magdalen) and Kieth (Martha).  Larry will be fondly remembered by his dear friends, Toni and Pete, who were incredibly supportive of him.

          Growing up in the small town of Innerkip, Larry was a member of the Eagles fastball team for several years and formed lifelong friendships.  Larry had an almost 30-year career as a Police Officer with the Woodstock Police Service.  After retirement he returned to the Woodstock Police and served as a special constable with the court services unit.  He was incredibly proud to call himself a police officer and always supported his fellow men and women in blue.

          Larry endured many health battles over the years, and he proudly told everyone that Victoria Hospital was “his hospital” after always receiving great care from the frontline Staff.  The family would like to extend their appreciation to all healthcare providers that have been a part of Larry’s medical journey over the years.  Special thanks to Dr. Mehta, his respirologist who exemplified excellent patient care.  If you so choose, please consider a donation to the London Health Sciences Foundation -Trauma Program or Verspeeten Family Cancer Centre,  or a charity of your choice in memory of Larry.  Cremation has taken place, and the family is planning a celebration of Larry’s life in the Spring of 2026.
