On Friday, November 20, 2020, Leonard Lee Wright, loving husband of Barbara Lynn Wright and father of three children, passed away at the age of 70.
Len was born on January 30, 1950 in Norwich, Ontario to Arthur and Ruth (Horne) Wright. He was born on his family’s tobacco farm. Len was third of 13 children. He grew up working on the farm where he learned great work ethic. From there he moved on to Sudbury, where he worked both at the mine and a gas station. He returned back to the Norwich area and started a job at Kelsey Hayes in Woodstock, Ontario. While working there he started his own construction company which led him to eventually retire from the factory and continue with his business. He moved on to moving houses and Len eventually retired in 2003.
Len was a great tradesman. He built his own house outside of Innerkip, Ontario. Where he lived from the late 70’s to the early 2000’s. Len had a passion for fishing and hunting. He often would go on trips with many friends. He was always watching to see if he could catch a glimpse of deer in the fields.
Len was known for always giving advice, sharing his knowledge and consistently being there for anyone requiring help. He would go out of his way to assist people in need. Regularly giving those that were struggling a job or being a mentor for a child with special needs.
Len was preceded in death by his father, Arthur and his mother, Ruth. He is survived by his wife Barbara, his three children, Tracey (Mark) Spina, Kelley (Randy) Pollock, Scott (Julie) Wright. His grandchildren, Hope Spina (Lucas Miller), Madison Spina, Owen Spina, Olivia Wright and Bryce Wright. He was a soon to be Great Papa. Len also leaves behind 12 siblings, Elsie Birch, Debbie Deakin, Turner Wright, Bonnie Woodford, Donita Carter, Margaret Losee, April Wright, Esther Carey, Sarah Pimental, Georgie Oakes, Floyd Wright and Elaine Bridgett, many nieces and nephews, as well as an abundance of great nieces and nephews.
A Celebration of Life will be held at a future date. Donations in Lenard’s memory to VON Sakura House, Woodstock or the Canadian Wildlife Federation are appreciated and can be made directly or by cheque through Wareing Cremation Services 225 Norwich Ave. Woodstock, Ontario N4S 3V8
