In Loving Memory of Lesley Anne Kayser
Sunrise: June 4, 1946 – Sunset: December 12, 2025
With deep love and gratitude, we remember the extraordinary life of Lesley Anne Kayser. Born in England to Leslie and Gladys (Anne) Kayser, Lesley was the beloved sister of Gwyneth and Frances. In 1955, the Kayser family immigrated to Toronto, Ontario, Canada, where Lesley’s journey of faith and service truly began.
Lesley dedicated over 47 years of her life to missionary work in Bolivia with SIM. Though her roots were in England and Canada, Lesley’s heart belonged to Bolivia, a country she called home and where she built a family of the heart. Her compassion and commitment touched countless lives, especially through her close friendship with Rosa de Oliver, a Bolivian widow. Together, they created a warm and welcoming home in Trinidad, Beni, Bolivia, where Rosa’s children and grandchildren lovingly called Lesley “Tia Lalita.” Their home was a haven of hospitality, where everyone felt valued and cherished.
A passionate teacher and mentor, Lesley was deeply involved in her local church, leading adult Bible classes that drew as many as 80 participants each Sunday. She and Rosa also launched a Monday night Bible study for neighborhood women, and, seeing a need among local children, they founded “La Hora Feliz” (“Happy Hour”) — a vibrant Bible club where children gathered to sing, play, learn, and grow in faith.
Lesley’s impact extended far beyond her home. She was a founding manager of a Christian bookstore and played a pivotal role in establishing “The New Life in Christ Church,” which began in her living room and flourished into a thriving congregation. Her tireless service was recognized with numerous awards, including honors for her special contributions to the Bolivian church and community.
Though retirement came sooner than expected due to illness, Lesley’s spirit remained undimmed. Returning to Canada, she was embraced by family and friends, yet she maintained close bonds with her Bolivian loved ones through calls, emails, and social media.
Lesley will be remembered as a friend, mentor, and sister in Christ. Her radiant smile, warm hugs, and unwavering kindness left an indelible mark on all who knew her. She shared the love of Christ generously, touching hearts and souls across continents.
Her memory lives on in the hearts of friends around the world, her Bolivian family, Gwyneth’s children and their partners in Canada, and Frances’ husband, children, and grandchildren in New Zealand.
