Linda Diane Cousins

It is with profound sadness that we announce the passing of our wonderful mother Linda Diane Cousins, at the age of 72, on February 1, 2021 at the Woodstock Hospital.

Born on January 14, 1949 in Hagersville, Ontario, to the late William and Dora Brickwood, she was a wonderful wife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother. She is survived by her husband Glen of 48 years, her daughters Linda and Sandra, her step-children Philip and Sam, her brother Bill (Shirley) Brickwood, her sister Barb (Fred) Billyard, her 10 grandchildren, 5 great grandchildren and many nieces and nephews. She is predeceased by her sister Jeannie Davies. Linda was dearly loved and her extended family and friends will never forget her.

Those we love don’t go away.

They walk beside us every day.

Unheard but always near

Still loved, still missed

And very dear

Linda had many joys in life- such as her love of gardening! She enjoyed the beautiful flowers as they grew throughout the spring and summer seasons. And while even after all these years she still couldn’t begin to tell you what each plant was called, knowing the names made little difference in her enjoyment.

She also had a love for animals – pets have been a part of her family her entire life. And while there have been too many pets to list them all, her sudden passing leaves behind two fur babies, Lacey and Sadie. They too will miss her !

Another thing that gave Linda joy was her career as a Personal Support Worker at Woodingford Lodge in Woodstock. She worked there for 23 years, she loved spending time with and helping the residents. She took great pride in making the residents’ lives brighter. Linda had a unique and unusual way of dealing with things that sometimes made us shake our heads but we could always count on her compassion and friendship. Her different perspective will always be missed.

We would like to take this opportunity to thank the many Doctors and staff of the Woodstock Hospital for the amazing care and kindness they provided Linda during her stay. She was taken from us far too early and will be dearly missed.

In keeping with Linda’s wishes, cremation has taken place.
