Peacefully at Woodstock Hospital, with his loving son at his side, Lyle Douglas Bartlett passed away on Tuesday September 15, 2026, in his 80th year.
Born on January 13, 1947, Lyle lived a life defined by quiet reliability, devotion to his family, and an impeccable work ethic. A man of exceptional loyalty, Lyle dedicated over 47 years to Bryan Donkin (Honeywell). Through hard work, practical wisdom, and skill, he progressed through the company from machinist to manager, and ultimately to materials manager, earning the lifelong respect and camaraderie of colleagues and friends. A talented craftsman, Lyle was equally at home in his woodworking shop. He prided himself on creating countless thoughtful pieces, generously sharing the work of his hands with family and friends—treasured keepsakes that will serve as lasting reminders of his skill, patience, and generosity.
Lyle was the beloved husband of Ann Bartlett (née Kirby), whom he married on October 2, 1965. Together, they shared nearly 61 wonderful years of marriage built on devotion, deep companionship, and enduring love. He was the proud and loving father of Brian (Marshall), and Deb Broadfield (Chuck). Dear brother of Verna Miller, Russell Bartlett (Betty), Ina Arthur (Dave), and Sharon Hewitson (George), and dear brother-in-law of Diana Bartlett. Lyle is fondly remembered by his grandson James, as well as many nieces, nephews, extended family, neighbours, and friends. He was predeceased by his loving parents Clifford and Gladys Bartlett, his infant granddaughter Tiffany (1998), his siblings, Helen Gaukel (Earl), Lorraine Paterson (John), Muriel Goodbrand (Red), Evelyn Adams (Dick), Bruce Bartlett, Murray Bartlett, and Sheila Turnbull (John), and his brothers-in-law, Ken Adams and Doug Miller.
Cremation has taken place. A celebration of Lyle’s life will be held at a later date. The family wishes to extend their heartfelt gratitude to the doctors, nurses, and staff at Woodstock Hospital for their compassionate care and support. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations in Lyle’s memory may be made to the Woodstock Hospital Foundation or a charity of your choice.
