Marlene Derer

          With heavy hearts we announce the passing of Marlene Patricia Derer (nee Yeo) at the age of 80 years.  

          She will be forever loved and missed by her son Robert J. Derer.  Loving sister to Larry (Vera) Yeo, Darlene (Art) Robinson, Adele (Tom) Shelton, Emily Weszner, Lorraine Marsh, Robert Yeo, Blanche (Jerry) Vandekerckhove, and Kathy (John) Horvath.  Marlene will be lovingly missed and always remembered by her special friends Mary Lou and Jim, Bernie, Dianna, Yvette, Ruth, Jean, Barb, Debbie, Allison, Cindy, and Linda.  Marlene was predeceased by her daughter Linda Derer, her parents Jack and Fern Yeo, sisters Karen Vincent and Phyllis Fournier, brothers-in-law George Weszner and Erving Vincent, and nephew Brent Yeo.

          Marlene was born in Macklin, Saskatchewan, and at a young age she started working in retail.  When she decided to change careers, Marlene went back to school to become an esthetician; she was very successful and continued her business for 25 years.  Marlene gave so much of herself to care for others that many of her clients became friends.

          In keeping with Marlene’s wishes cremation has taken place.  Marlene’s Celebration of Life was enjoyed when we celebrated her 80th birthday.
