It is with heavy hearts that we announce the peaceful passing of Marlene Ruth Harvey of Woodstock, Ontario on December 1, 2022 after a short battle with kidney and liver failure.  Marlene passed at home after being surrounded by her loved ones as she wanted. 

She was the daughter of the late Vincent and Ruthene (Rushton) Faulkner.  Marlene grew up in the small rural town of Bass River, Nova Scotia where she spent most of her life with the rest of her family.  In 1994 she met her companion Brian Chisholm, and moved to Woodstock, Ontario in 1995.  Marlene is survived by her daughter Stacey (Troy) of Woodstock, Ontario, her granddaughters Courtney (Jay) of Aylmer, Ontario, and Selena (Cole) of Woodstock, Ontario, her cherished great grandson Cole, brothers Ken (Sandra) of Truro, N.S.,  Arthur of Truro, N.S., Chesley (Nora) of Bass River, N.S., Roddy (Mi) of Bass River, N.S., sister-in-law Kathy of Bass River, N.S., several nieces, nephews, great nieces and great nephews, and her longtime companion Brian Chisholm of Woodstock, Ontario.  She also leaves behind her beloved cats Bella aka "Little Shit"  and Sassy aka "Tiger" whom she loved dearly. Marlene was predeceased by her parents, her husband Calvin, and brothers Donny Faulkner and Bobby Faulkner.

The family would like to extend a special Thank You to Marlene’s nurses Nichole and Tyler, her PSW’s Bola, Temmy and Fatima, as well as the Palliative Care Team for all of their help in making her as comfortable as they could at home during her brief illness!  Their help and kindness is greatly appreciated.

In keeping with Marlene’s request, cremation has taken place.  Her daughter Stacey will take her cremated remains back to Nova Scotia to be buried with her parents Vincent & Ruthene Faulkner in the Baptist Cemetery, Bass River, Nova Scotia at a later date.  There will be a small graveside gathering at that time.

Donations in Marlene’s memory to the Canadian Liver Foundation or the Canadian Kidney Foundation are appreciated by the family.
