Maureen 'Moe' Roberts

With heartbreaking sadness, we announce the passing of Maureen.  After a short battle with cancer, she died peacefully with her nieces Sherin and Melissa by her side.

Beloved wife of Allen.  Beloved Mother of Kyrstal, Ryan, Alex and Rebecca. Beloved Grandma of Scarlett and Raena. She adored her granddaughters Scarlett and Raena and she was excited about the arrival of another granddaughter in August.  Beloved sister of Patricia Rusk (Hugh), Jo-Anne Doggett (Brian), Debbie Lanford, and Sheryl Gownlock (Paul), sister-in-law of Janet Gibson (Glen), and daughter-in-law of Frank.  Moe was a loving Aunt and Great Aunt to many nieces and nephews.

Moe was predeceased by her parents Searle and Joan Rusk, and by her mother-in-law Fay. 

Maureen was born in Toronto and moved to Bramalea at a young age. Her formative years were spent in Bramalea where she attended School. She loved to go camping with her family during the summer months and sit around the campfire and roast hot dogs and marshmallows. As a teenager she got the chance to visit family in Germany and loved going up to the top of the Eiffel Tower.

In 1985 Maureen met the love of her life and they started dating in February 1986. Three and half years later they were married on July 15,1989. They remained in Bramalea for a few years while Al drove a big rig and she travelled with him when she could.  When the children started to arrive, they moved to Woodstock, Ontario where Al took another job and raised their family. 

Moe was an avid reader and Danielle Steele was her favourite Author.  She collected all of her novels.

As her children grew up Moe and Al loved to travel in and around Ontario. She loved the Murdoch Mystery Series on TV and went to visit the areas where the show was filmed.  They would travel to Car Shows in Canada and the United States where they would visit and display their Dodge Charger.

Maureen will be deeply missed by her family, cousins and all who knew her.

There will be no funeral. Cremation has taken place.  A Celebration of Life will be held at the South Gate Centre, 191 Old Wellington Street South, Woodstock, Ontario on Saturday July 6, 2024, from 11:00 am to 2:00 pm.

Memorial donations can be made at the Charity of your choice.
