Michel “Michael” Joseph Andre Avila deBelleval passed away peacefully at home on Tuesday October 10, 2023, at the age of 75.
Predeceased by his parents Guyon and Giselle deBelleval, brother Paul and sister Danielle. Survived by his loving wife of 54 years Linda (Heibein). Proud Father to three sons Greg (Rachel), Brad (Tammy), and Jeremy (Jenna). Cherished grandfather of Brayden, Alexandra and Luke; Easton and Grant; and Ava and Ella. Loving brother to Diane (Gary), Lynn (Greg), and Marc (Sandy).
Family was of utmost importance in his life. Mike took an active role in coaching his sons in hockey and softball for many years. He was involved in many other community activities for his children including Beavers and Cubs. He enjoyed any opportunity to cheer on his seven grandchildren as they played hockey, baseball, gymnastics or volleyball.
Mike was a passionate and well-loved educator for 31 years with Oxford and Thames Valley Board of Education in Tavistock, Innerkip, Woodstock, Ingersoll and Kintore as a Teacher and Vice Principal. Being an award-winning artist in many disciplines, he shared his knowledge and talent by giving lessons in his home, Woodstock Art Gallery, Southgate Centre and Ingersoll Creative Arts Centre. He was a dedicated member of the Tavistock Masonic Lodge. The highlight of his Masonic experience was serving as District Deputy Grand Master from 2014-15. Mike will always be remembered for his warm personality, genuine interest in others and great sense of humour which brought joy to those around him. Music was also a great passion of Mike’s. Loving his wife Linda was easy, as he knew “True Love Ways” (Buddy Holly) and also referred to her as the “Love of My Life” (Queen).
Cremation has taken place and in keeping with Mike's wishes there will be no visitation or funeral service.
